BWA can provide advocacy in a number of areas. The intention of this service is to assist members to access or better understand the services that are available to them either through the Association itself or through other organisations or agencies.
In addition to the accommodation services provided by BWA, we may be able to assist you in accessing other accommodation alternatives. These may be from such organisations as The South Australian Housing Trust, various housing cooperatives, aged care facilities or private rental accommodation.
Located at 1 Cameron Avenue, Gilles Plains are 24 one-bedroom units with shared laundry facilities. The Association acts as a landlord only and residents independently cater for all their own living needs. The units are available for rental by non BWA members as well as BWA members. For enquiries regarding our Independent Living Units please telephone LJ Hooker- Glynde on 08 8336 3899.
As well as the direct financial supports BWA can provide, we can also help you access and better understand services that agencies such as Centrelink provide, deal with financial institutions or gain other financial services or advice.
Depending on your individual circumstances we can put you in touch with, or coordinate services from, community health organisations such as Domiciliary Care, other sensory organisations, organisations that provide in home care and many others.
You may require access to a service that is specific to your individual needs, or you may not even know what services are available to you. We can assist you by providing advocacy in a range of areas on your behalf or assist you in gaining a particular service and then work with you to help resolve any difficulties.
